Carron Laurel Cast Iron Fireplace Insert
The Carron Laurel Cast Iron Fireplace Insert features a grand canopy decorated with a fruit & urn detail, and is made to look all the more prominent by the connecting pillars that run down to the strong basket at the foot of the opening. The basket is designed with simple lines and three bars.
Between the opening and the frame sits a line of angled tile panels, bringing The Laurel to life. The frame itself is decorated with a sequence of 10 single leaves on the top, left and right of the square shape. Suitable for solid fuel or gas.

Insert fireplaces are so called because they have built-in firebacks and are designed to be inserted into chimney openings measuring approximately 36” x 36” (915 x 915mm) or larger. In appearance, these can be either completely cast or cast with slots for decorative tiles. The former are generally earlier designs whilst cast iron fireplaces incorporating two vertical ceramic panels became particularly fashionable from the mid-1880s onwards.
